We respectfully acknowledge that the UBC Okanagan academic campus is situated on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the Syilx Okanagan Nation.

Additionally, we respectfully acknowledge that the UBC Vancouver-Point Grey academic campus is located on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), and UBC operations in Vancouver more generally are also on the territories of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh).

The Okanagan Stroke Research Lab, located within the Centre for Chronic Disease Prevention and Management at the Okanagan campus of UBC, is focused on researching the effective management and prevention of chronic diseases, particularly in the area of secondary prevention for stroke, cardiovascular disease, and multimorbidity, all of which are critical areas of healthcare.

Our research also extends to virtual health delivery systems, which has emerged as a pivotal tool in delivering chronic care health services and supports, leveraging accessible technologies to enhance patient outcomes.  The research prioritizes the measurement of these outcomes, ensuring that interventions are not only effective but also evidence-based. Current and evolving studies are working to develop complex behavioural interventions and the implementation of novel clinical trial methodologies.  Research is designed using a participatory and patient-oriented approach to ensure that the needs and perspectives of patients are central to healthcare innovations, leading to more tailored and impactful health solutions.
